Ryan Ellis began working in photography while attending the University of Miami. After learning more about the craft, Ryan moved to Hawaii to attend graduate school at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, on the island of Oahu. While living in Hawaii, Ryan worked under Dreammaker Photo and Video, primarily shooting Baby's 1st Luau parties and Weddings. While working for Dreammaker, Ryan Ellis Photography was born. Two years later, Ryan moved to Raleigh, NC where he accepted a job as a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, his first career. Ryan continues to maintain ryanellisphotography while working with the NWS.
As a freelance writer and photographer, Ryan has also worked with several news publications including the "Miami Hurricane" and "Ka Leo", the official newspaper of the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Ryan is currently the editor of "Changing Skies" the quarterly newsletter of the National Weather Service in Raleigh, NC.
